Matthew Zinman, Founder
Matthew Zinman founded The Internship Institute (TII) in 2007 in recognition of the need for an action-oriented non-profit, non-partisan organization to fully modernize internships. Guided by his belief that, “there is no substitute for experience,” Zinman has worked tirelessly over the past decade to develop a Blueprint for Internship Success under the brand of Z University (ZU). The Blueprint is a system of tools and models that provide the most comprehensive resources for internship program design and management and individual training programs to prepare supervisors and interns to create the best possible experience. In February 2011, Zinman established Internship Success, Inc. (ISI) to fully align his personal mission with his professional ambition.
Today, TII and ISI work closely together to bring the Blueprint for Internship Success™ to employers, workforce development professionals, states and regional groups focused on closing the gaps between school and work. Through this partnership, Zinman continues to offer his expertise as TII’s chief advisor and donates a percentage of every ZU product purchase to support TII programming. In addition, Zinman serves on the board of TII to forward its mission to assure the quality, integrity and success of internships.
